The Drilling Engineer plans, designs, and oversees the execution of offshore drilling programs from spud to total depth. This role is central to ensuring wells are drilled safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Drilling Engineer interfaces with rig contractors, service companies, and the operator's drilling team to deliver technical excellence in all well construction activities across Suriname's offshore blocks.

Well Program Design & Engineering
- Design and prepare well programs including casing, cementing, mud, and BHA selection.
- Conduct offset well analysis, pore pressure prediction, and wellbore stability studies.
- Develop drilling parameters, KPIs, and non-productive time (NPT) reduction plans.
- Manage well cost estimates, AFEs, and daily cost tracking.
Rig Operations & Contractor Management
- Supervise drilling contractors and service companies on the rig site.
- Monitor real-time drilling data and optimize drilling parameters.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, PTW, and operator well control procedures.
- Conduct daily rig meetings and issue daily drilling reports to the operator.
Well Control & Compliance
- Serve as the primary technical authority for well control on assigned wells.
- Ensure all personnel are briefed on well control procedures and emergency response.
- Participate in well design peer reviews and HAZID/HAZOP sessions.
