Job Description

The FPSO Operations Engineer provides technical leadership for all process, utility, and cargo operations on the FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel. This role requires specialized FPSO operations knowledge, SIMOPS planning capability, and a thorough understanding of marine, process, and safety management systems unique to FPSO assets.

Responsibilities

FPSO Process Operations

  • Oversee and optimize all FPSO process operations including crude stabilization, gas handling, and water treatment.
  • Develop and review FPSO operating procedures and operational envelopes.
  • Monitor FPSO production performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Manage process upsets, emergency shutdowns, and restart procedures.

SIMOPS & Marine Integration

  • Plan and coordinate simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) on the FPSO.
  • Interface with the marine team, Mooring Master, and vessel master on cargo operations.
  • Manage tanker approach, offtake operations, and shuttle tanker coordination.

Integrity & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OPITO FPSO requirements, STCW, and ISM Code.
  • Support FPSO inspection and integrity management programs.
  • Participate in FPSO-specific emergency drills (fire, gas, abandon, helicopter).
Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Chemical, Petroleum, or Marine Engineering.
  • OPITO FPSO Operations Certificate (mandatory).
  • STCW Basic Safety Training.
  • OPITO T-BOSIET for tropical offshore operations.
  • SIMOPS planning and execution experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of FPSO operations experience.
