Job Description

The HSE Supervisor provides senior-level safety leadership across all offshore operations, overseeing a team of HSE Officers and ensuring alignment with the operator's HSSE management system. This role is responsible for incident investigation leadership, HSE performance reporting, and strategic safety culture development. The HSE Supervisor operates as the primary HSE interface with the offshore installation manager and the client operator.

Responsibilities

HSE Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of HSE Officers across the offshore installation.
  • Set HSE performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Represent the HSE function in daily operations meetings and management reviews.
  • Interface directly with the Offshore Installation Manager on all safety matters.

Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis

  • Lead major incident investigations using ICAM, TapRoot, or Bow-Tie methodologies.
  • Produce high-quality investigation reports with systemic corrective and preventive actions.
  • Present findings to senior management and ensure close-out of all action items.
  • Coordinate incident reporting to the operator and Suriname regulatory authorities.

HSE Systems & Compliance

  • Implement and audit the HSE management system (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).
  • Maintain the risk register, HSE legal register, and critical controls framework.
  • Conduct HSE audits, pre-job safety reviews, and management walkthroughs.
Requirements
  • BSc/MSc in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NEBOSH Oil & Gas Certificate (mandatory).
  • Certified Incident Investigation Lead (ICAM / TapRoot).
  • Minimum 8 years of HSE experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Thorough understanding of offshore HSE management systems and operator requirements.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 auditing preferred.
