Job Description

The Logistics Officer manages the movement of personnel, equipment, and materials across all onshore and offshore operations. This role is critical to ensuring that supplies reach the right location at the right time, that customs and import requirements are correctly managed, and that logistics costs are controlled and optimized within approved budgets.

Responsibilities

Logistics Planning & Execution

  • Plan and coordinate transportation of personnel and cargo to offshore installations and onshore sites.
  • Manage helicopter, vessel, and road transport scheduling and documentation.
  • Track all shipments, cargo manifests, and delivery confirmations.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers.

Customs & Import Management

  • Manage all import and export documentation in compliance with Suriname customs regulations.
  • Prepare and process customs declarations, exemption applications, and duty assessments.
  • Liaise with Suriname Customs (SB&O) and port authorities on clearance procedures.

Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain logistics records in SAP MM/WM modules.
  • Produce weekly logistics reports, cost trackers, and KPI dashboards.
  • Support procurement on delivery tracking and supplier performance evaluation.
Requirements
  • BSc in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CIPS Level 4 or equivalent logistics/supply chain qualification.
  • Minimum 4 years of logistics experience in oil and gas or related industry.
  • Proficiency in SAP MM and/or WM modules.
  • Strong knowledge of Suriname customs, import regulations, and port procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
