Job Description

The Petroleum Engineer leads the technical evaluation and optimization of oil and gas recovery operations across offshore blocks. This role requires deep expertise in well performance analysis, reservoir drive mechanisms, and production system design. The ideal candidate operates with precision, safety discipline, and the ability to translate complex subsurface data into actionable field strategies. This position supports Suriname's Block 58 offshore operations and requires full compliance with TotalEnergies and Chevron operator standards.

Responsibilities

Production Optimization

  • Analyze and optimize well and reservoir production performance using real-time data.
  • Develop and implement production enhancement strategies including well intervention and stimulation programs.
  • Conduct production surveillance, decline curve analysis, and material balance studies.
  • Identify and mitigate production constraints including artificial lift and flow assurance issues.

Well Engineering & Technical Reporting

  • Prepare well programs, completion designs, and workover proposals.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly technical reports for operator and management review.
  • Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and facilities teams on integrated field development planning.
  • Ensure all well operations comply with HSE regulations and operator requirements.

Reservoir Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor reservoir pressure behavior and fluid contacts.
  • Run production simulations and performance forecasting models.
  • Contribute to reserves estimation and field development plan (FDP) reviews.
Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant offshore petroleum engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in production simulation software (e.g., Prosper, GAP, PIPESIM).
  • Working knowledge of IWCF Well Control Level 3 (mandatory).
  • SPE membership preferred; PMP certification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in integrated asset management.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural, rotational offshore environments.
