Job Description

The Planner is responsible for coordinating and developing plans to ensure efficient and effective operations within the company. This role involves analyzing data, forecasting needs, and creating detailed plans for production, logistics, inventory management, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

1. Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules and plans for production, projects, or operations.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure plans align with business objectives and resource availability.
  • Adjust plans as necessary based on changing priorities, resource constraints, or unforeseen issues.

2. Forecasting and Analysis:

  • Analyze historical data and trends to forecast future needs and requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in planning and provide recommendations for mitigation or improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on planning activities, progress, and performance metrics.

3. Resource Management:

  • Determine resource requirements, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to meet planning objectives.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to maintain balance.

4. Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for planned activities.
  • Develop inventory management strategies to reduce excess stock and avoid shortages.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.

5. Project Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
  • Track project progress and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve any issues that may impact project timelines or quality.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with production, logistics, procurement, and other departments to ensure cohesive planning efforts.
  • Communicate plans, schedules, and changes effectively to all relevant parties.
  • Facilitate meetings to discuss planning activities and address any concerns or challenges.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in planning processes and procedures.
  • Implement best practices and new methodologies to enhance planning efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in planning technologies and techniques.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a planning or scheduling role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Project, Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
