Job Description

The Technical Worker is responsible for performing technical tasks and support functions to ensure the smooth operation of systems and equipment. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware and software, as well as providing technical support to users. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

1. Installation and Setup:

  • Install and configure hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Set up network connections and ensure proper configuration for optimal performance.

2. Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.

3. Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to users by troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Assist with system upgrades and software updates.

4. Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Document technical procedures and create user guides for common tasks.

5. Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory of technical equipment and supplies.
  • Order and restock parts and supplies as needed.

6. Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all technical work complies with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Follow established protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of technical operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Technical Worker or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and common software applications.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.
