The Onshore HSE Officer supports all land-based operations, logistics hubs, offices, and onshore facilities for the oil and gas division. This role ensures full compliance with Surinamese OHS regulations and international HSSE standards, maintaining a safe working environment across all non-offshore locations. The ideal candidate combines technical HSE competency with strong people skills to drive safety awareness throughout onshore operations.

Responsibilities
Onshore Safety Management
- Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and risk assessments at onshore facilities and logistics yards.
- Implement and monitor the site-specific HSSE management system.
- Manage the onshore PTW process and ensure all high-risk work is properly authorized.
- Liaise with Suriname labor authorities and regulatory bodies on OHS compliance matters.
Incident Management & Reporting
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare detailed incident reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE statistics (TRIR, LTIR, near-miss rates) and report to HSE Supervisor monthly.
Training & Compliance
- Deliver HSE inductions for all new onshore employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Coordinate first aid, fire safety, and emergency evacuation training.
- Ensure all onshore HSE certifications and training records are current and filed.
Requirements
- BSc in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (mandatory).
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Working knowledge of Suriname OHS Regulations.
- Minimum 4 years of HSE experience in oil & gas, industrial, or logistics environments.
- Proficiency in HSE management systems and digital reporting tools.
