About Your Employer

Who Is HCMS N.V.?

HCMS N.V. is a Surinamese-registered human capital management company and part of K&K Heritage Group N.V. We are the legal employer for local professionals deployed to Oil & Gas operators, mining companies, and industrial contractors working in Suriname.

As your employer, HCMS handles your employment contract, salary payments, social security contributions, tax withholding, insurance, training, and workplace compliance. The operator or project site where you work is the client — HCMS is the company that employs you, pays you, and protects your rights under Surinamese law.

Because HCMS is a locally registered Surinamese entity, your employment counts toward the national Local Content requirements that operators must meet under their Production Sharing Contracts with Staatsolie. This means your role has both personal value and national significance.

How Your Employment Works

Your Contract, Your Pay, Your Protection
What How It Works
Employment Contract You receive a written contract from HCMS N.V. specifying your role, project, salary, working hours, rotation schedule (if applicable), and duration. Your contract complies with Surinamese labour law (Burgerlijk Wetboek Boek 7).
Salary Payment Your salary is paid monthly by HCMS directly to your bank account. All statutory deductions (income tax / LB, social security / SOZ, health insurance / BZV) are handled by HCMS. You receive a clear payslip each month showing gross salary, deductions, and net pay.
Social Security HCMS pays your employer social security contributions (9% of gross) and ensures your AOV (old age pension), BZV (health insurance), and FVO (parental leave fund) contributions are correctly administered.
Health Insurance BZV health insurance is arranged through your employment. HCMS contributes SRD 1,000/month toward your health coverage. You will receive your BZV card for access to medical facilities in Suriname.
Vacation You are entitled to annual vacation leave as specified in the Vakantiewet, including a vacation allowance of 50% of your salary during vacation days. Your exact entitlement is specified in your contract.
Termination Protection Your employment is protected under the Ontslagwet 2018. HCMS cannot terminate your contract without following the legal procedures, including notice periods and, where required, approval from the Ontslagcommissie.
Workplace Safety The operator or project site where you work is responsible for providing a safe working environment. You have the right to refuse unsafe work. All offshore roles require valid BOSIET, HUET, and offshore medical certifications — HCMS can arrange these through our certification partners.
Your rights matter. Under Surinamese law, you are entitled to a safe workplace, fair pay, social security, medical care, vacation, and protection against unfair dismissal. If you have any concerns about your employment, contact HCMS directly — we are your employer and your advocate.

Who is my employer — HCMS or the operator?

HCMS N.V. is your legal employer. The operator (such as TotalEnergies, Staatsolie, or a mining company) is the client where you perform your work. Your salary, contract, and employment rights are managed by HCMS. The operator provides the work site, equipment, and daily operational supervision.

What happens when my project ends?

When a project assignment ends, your HUMANABLE profile remains active in the HCMS talent database. You will be automatically matched against new project opportunities based on your skills, certifications, and availability. HCMS will contact you directly when a suitable assignment is available. In the meantime, you can continue completing courses on HCMS Academy to strengthen your profile.

How do I get paid?

Your salary is paid monthly by HCMS via bank transfer to your Surinamese bank account. You will receive a detailed payslip showing your gross salary, all deductions (LB income tax, SOZ social security, BZV health insurance), and your net pay. If you have questions about your payslip, contact your HCMS HR representative directly.

Can I work offshore?

Yes — HCMS places professionals on both onshore and offshore projects. Offshore roles require valid BOSIET/HUET certifications and an offshore medical fitness certificate. If you do not currently hold these certifications, HCMS can arrange them through our certification partner (Kersten Group) in Suriname. The cost is typically covered by the client or advanced by HCMS and recovered upon placement.

How do I access HCMS Academy and Digi Coaches?

During your onboarding process, you will receive login credentials for HCMS Academy and Digi Coaches. Both platforms are accessible via your mobile phone or computer. Your HCMS HR representative will walk you through the setup during your first week. If you need help at any time, the Digi Coaches AI assistant is available 24/7.

What if I have a problem at my work site?

Contact HCMS directly. As your employer, we are responsible for resolving employment-related issues — including contract disputes, safety concerns, payment questions, and workplace conditions. You can reach us via WhatsApp, phone, or email. Your HCMS HR representative is your first point of contact. For urgent safety issues on site, always follow the operator's emergency procedures first, then notify HCMS immediately.
